Statistics, even in Singapore, show that young people increasingly
face problems associated with peer pressure, substance abuse,
pornography and divorce. This makes the leadership role of
parents an even more important task than before. It calls
them to a more responsible role in cultivating family life
at home, characterised by a trusting relationship of dedication,
respect, communication and perseverance. |
After the successful launched of the first
"Raise Your Child Right" in August 1999, we in the Family
Enrichment Society have received strong encouragement from
participants to hold another conference on this topic. "Raise
Your Child Right II", our response to participants' request,
is a one and a half day seminar conference for parents and
those working with families.
The aim of this conference is to help the participants discover
what makes for successful parenting and family life. In
particular, it will address the following issues:
-
What fundamental family policies and
practices have a profoundly positive effect on the moral
development of children to form children of character
who will become responsible and useful citizens?
-
How do successful parents apply these
fundamentals to everyday family life?
